Robbers Force Woman To Withdraw Money from ATM

Robbers confront woman in shopping center parking lot, then marched her over to Walgreen's where they made her withdraw $500, cops say.

A 38-year-old woman filed a delayed police report after being confronted by three robbers in a parking lot who forced her to withdraw money from an ATM, reports said. Oak Lawn police are investigating a robbery that occurred around 2 p.m. May 6, where a woman says the robbers confronted her in a shopping center parking lot at 8700 S. Stoners Jump Man Walking Home from Work

Cops say muggers were after 29-year-old man's backpack.

Oak Lawn police said the man noticed two young males in the alley between Ridgeland and Marion as he walked home around 11:37 p.m. March 15. As he continued walking, he felt someone try to pull off his backpack. Ex-Con Charged With Radio Shack Robberies Pleads Not Guilty

Reginald Taylor, 47, of Chicago has pleaded not guilty to felony charges in two separate armed robbery cases and was given a $500,000 bond.

A Chicago man charged with robbing at least two area Radio Shack stores has pleaded not guilty. Reginald Taylor, 47, was apprehended in Oak Lawn after holding police at bay with a handgun was charged with robbing the Frankfort Radio Shack. He had already faced robbery charges in connection with a Nov. 7 stickup at the Radio Shack on Harlem Avenue in Palos Heights.  Taylor has two cases with several felony charges, including armed robbery, being an armed habitual criminal possession/use of a weapon by a felon, aggravated robbery and aggravated unlawful restraint.  Cook County Judge John J. Hynes issued a $500,000 bond in the new cases when Taylor appeared in court on Thursday, Dec. 19. Taylor's most recent arrest was in violation of parole…

Frankfort Cops Charge Ex-Con With Radio Shack Robbery

The same Chicago man allegedly robbed two different Radio Shacks in a week before holding police at bay during an hour-long standoff.

An ex-con apprehended in Oak Lawn after holding police at bay with a handgun was charged with robbing the Frankfort Radio Shack. Reginald Taylor, 47, of 7121 S. Harvard Ave. in Chicago already faced robbery charges in connection with a Nov. 7 stickup at the Radio Shack on Harlem Avenue in Palos Heights. In that robbery, Taylor allegedly waited for customers to leave the Palos Heights Radio Shack and locked the store's front door. He then reportedly brandished a handgun, demanded cash and absconded with what employees gave up. Taylor headed from Palos Heights to Oak Lawn, where he went into another Radio Shack, police said. Cops Search for Gunman Near 95th and Cicero

Village officials say robbery suspect is cornered in a stairwell with a gun in his mouth on 96th Street between Cicero Avenue and Lacross Avenue. Heavy police and fire presence.

Updated at 4:50 p.m. Oak Lawn Police Department Division Chief Michael Kaufmann said the suspect surrendered peacefully.  Updated at 4:34 p.m. A neighbor on 96th Street said the gunman kicked in the door of a nearby home and ran into the basement stairwell, where he was threatening police and himself. Officials said the man had a gun in his mouth. Law enforcement officers had cordoned off a 3-block area around the brick bungalow that the suspected robber entered and brought police dogs into the house, the neighbor said. Oak Lawn police reports Sept. 5-6.

THURSDAY SEPTEMBER 6 A 37-year-old man was walking home from the liquor store around 8:30 p.m. when two men near 107th Street and Komensky Avenue confronted him. One of the robbers said, “Hey, dude, we’re taking your beer.” The man put the beer on the sidewalk. As the robber knelt down to pick up the beer, police said the man punched him in the side of his face, knocking him to the ground. The would-be robber immediately got up and fled southbound with his buddy down Komensky. The man did not have his cell phone so he ran home to call 911. 'Call Girl' Robs Napping Italian Businessmen at Hilton

Wallet turns up missing after woman said she had wrong room and left, cops say.

A woman barged into the hotel room of two Italian businessmen claiming they had “called her” and may have stolen a wallet off their dresser, reports said. The men had returned to their room at the Hilton Oak Lawn at 9333 S. Cicero Ave. around 5:20 p.m. August 20. Both lay down after work to take a nap when they heard a knock on the door. Police: Man Charged After Grabbing Purse from Elderly Woman's Hand

Plucky elderly woman able to get last four numbers of alleged robber's license plate; Evergreen Park police apprehend man on dead end street, Oak Lawn cops say.

UPDATE: Local Cops, FBI Lead Manhunt for Armed Robber in Oak Lawn

A police perimeter has been set up around a Bank of America branch in Oak Lawn, where police said a robbery occurred this afternoon.

Updated 8:37 p.m. FBI and South Suburban Crime Reponse are searching the air conditioning ducts because blood was found earlier in the upstairs, Oak Lawn Division Chief Kaufmann said. Police are using remote control cameras to search inside the ducts. Two teams are searching; one FBI and one South Suburban Crime Response are doing the search. "They are still methodically looking, it's going to take time," Kaufmann said. Reports that police heard barricading are inaccurate. Kaufmann also would not confirm if the robber was armed with a TEC 9 gun. He said the robber was armed with an automatic handgun. Elderly Woman Injured in Mugging for Cash and Rosary

Police say 87-year-old woman's shoulder was dislocated when she was knocked to ground by the mugger.

An elderly woman was injured after being mugged for her rosary and some change during a purse snatching on March 30. Oak Lawn police received a call of an 87-year-old woman lying on the ground on near 97th Street and Keeler Avenue and a man running from the scene around 3:25 p.m. Police found her standing up near her car with asphalt in her hair.
