There was plenty of fresh air at this year’s Santa On the Green, one of the coldest in recent past. Families flocked to Oak Lawn’s annual holiday celebration on Saturday. Waiting to greet the North Pole power couple were dozens of kids and Frosty the Snowman, who seems to have acquired a girlfriend since last year. Oak Lawn Kicks Off Yuletide Season Wtih Small Biz Saturday, Santa On the Green Today
Oak Lawn kicks off the Yuletide season with a holiday doubleheader starting with Small Business Saturday followed by Santa On the Green starting at noon today (Nov. 24).
Oak Lawn residents will be treated to a holiday doubleheader on Saturday when Santa is due to arrive on the Village Green and shoppers can “shop small” until they drop. Sign up for the Oak Lawn Patch newsletter and breaking news alerts. Starting at noon a free trolley will be circulating through the 95th Street business district between Cicero and Ridgeland Avenues for Oak Lawn’s first-ever “Small Business Saturday” local shopping event promoting the village’s independently owned shops and restaurants. Download and print the free trolley map. The free trolley will be making stops at 21 businesses, as well as picking up passengers at Santa On the Green. Local business owners are counting down the minutes to the first-ever “Small Business Saturday,” promoting Oak Lawn’s independently owned shops and restaurants. Follow "Small Business Saturday - Oak Lawn" on Facebook. This Saturday (Nov. 24) from noon to 4 p.m., shoppers can catch a free trolley and experience awesome offers from 21 local businesses. The trolley will be circulating up and down Oak Lawn’s 95th Street business district between Cicero and Ridgeland, including a stop at Santa On the Green. Your Small Business Saturday Minute No. 1
“Small Business Saturday Oak Lawn” entices Oak Lawn to "shop small " at local businesses this Saturday, Nov. 24.
Since it’s start in 2010, Small Business Saturday has grown into a coordinated national effort to highlight the benefits of shopping small and shopping local. Oak Lawn Patch, the Oak Lawn Chamber of Commerce and many local businesses have banded together to create “Small Business Saturday Oak Lawn,” which will be this Saturday, November 24th. Participating businesses will have special offers for this Saturday only. A free trolley will be riding along 95th Street between Cicero and Ridgeland from noon to 4 p.m. for the event and will stop along the route at participating local businesses. I love The Craft Store on 95th Street across from Freshline. The lady who owns the shop is so helpful and friendly. They have everything or will find a way to get it for you. She went above and beyond for me with an afghan my mom was making for me before she died. It was to be a wedding present for my husband and me but she became too sick to complete it.
