BLOTTER: Sex Offender Nabbed on Warrant, Dunkin’ in the Tip Jar

Oak Lawn police reports April 16-19.

FRIDAY APRIL 19 A Hometown cop detained a man wanted on a sex offense at the 7-Eleven at 4501 W. 95th St. around 6:28 p.m. for Oak Lawn police. A name check indicated that Leron Hampton, 38, was wanted on a no-bond warrant, police said. Hampton was taken to the Oak Lawn police station where he was being held for Cook County Sheriff’s Police. TUESDAY APRIL 16 A fast-food employee was charged with theft after police said he stole tip money from the Dunkin’ Donuts at 10301 S. Central Ave. The manager provided surveillance video taken between April 8 and April 16 showing Antonio Heffner, 30, of South Holland, using sleight of hand to pocket cash while working the drive-through window, reports said. BLOTTER: Wallet Stolen During Sex, Warrant Arrest

Oak Lawn police reports from March 5, 2013.

TUESDAY MARCH 5 A 32-year-old man reported his wallet stolen by a woman that he met at Lucky’s Bar on 95th Street in Chicago Ridge. The man and woman left the bar to go back to his apartment in the 6300 block of West 99th Place around 10:26 p.m. While there, the woman performed a sex act on the man the left. Soon after, the man noticed that his wallet was missing, along with his Capital One card. The man contacted the credit card company and informed that the his card had already been used to make a $1 purchases at Speedway and Citgo, Western Union, and $104 purchases at two Chicago Walgreens stores. POLICE BLOTTER: Political Yard Signs Stolen, Road Rage, Man Punches Cars

Oak Lawn police reports, February 15 through February 25.

MONDAY FEBURARY 25 A village board candidate reported that two of her campaign signs were stolen from residential yards in the 9500 block of South Tripp Avenue. The signs were reported stolen  FRIDAY FEBRUARY 22 George Kuzur, 36, of the 7700 block of South Merrrimac Avenue in Burbank, was charged with disorderly conduct after being accused by another driver of waving a “large knife” during a road rage altercation, police said. The other driver said he was cut off by a white cargo van coming out of a shopping center lot in the 5100 block of West 95th Street, reports said. Owner Watches Car Drive Off with Puppy

Puppy stolen from Marion Avenue and the week's crime news.

A 5-month-old, terrier mix named Peanut was reported stolen from his back yard in the 10000 block of South Marion Avenue. Sign up for the Oak Lawn Patch newsletter and follow us on Facebook. Police said the puppy’s owner let Peanut out around 11 p.m. Feb. 21. When the owner went to call the dog back into the house, he couldn’t find Peanut in the back yard. The owner said the gate was open and there were footprints in the snow coming up to the gate from the street, and then leading away from the house toward Merton Avenue. Police said the owner shouted the Peanut’s name and heard a bark. He saw a blue, medium-sized sedan stopped on 100th Street. Shameless Crimes: Slicksters Hit Beloved Irish Store, Wheelchair Stolen

Criminals hit new bottom with shameless crimes recounted from Oak Lawn police reports.

WEDNESDAY FEBRUARY 13 Thieves swiped a wheelchair left on the driveway of a home on the 4500 block of West 105th St. around 11:12 a.m. Police said the mother had taken her daughter’s wheelchair out of the garage and left it outside while she went into the house to get her daughter ready to go out. When she went back outside the get the wheelchair, she noticed it was gone. The mother was told to file a police report by her daughter’s medical facility so she could purchase another one. TUESDAY FEBRUARY 12 Two men are believed to have stolen $10,000 worth of jewelry when they fast-talked and distracted employees of a local specialty store, police said. WEDNESDAY FEBRUARY 13 A 2005 Nissan Pathfinder was parked in the lot at LA Fitness, 8812 S. Cicero Ave., when someone smashed the front passenger window sometime before 7:55 p.m. The thief removed a tote bag on the front passenger floorboard. SUNDAY FEBRUARY 10 A 43-year-old woman who is a security officer reported that someone entered her Ford Edge parked in the 4900 block of West Wick Drive. According to the report, the security officer’s duty handgun, which was in a lock box on the rear floor, and GPS unit were both stolen sometime before 2:48 p.m. Police said the security officer thinks her remote starter control unit malfunctioned and prevented her doors from unlocking. THURSDAY JANUARY 31 A team of thieves was captured on security video stealing a laptop computer from a car that was parked in the Walgreen’s parking lot at 4740 W. 95th St. The 20-year-old victim told police she noticed her trunk was open when she returned to her car around 11:09 p.m. Police said that security video showed a dark colored car circling the parking lot and then parking in the space next to the victim's car at approximately 11:03 p.m. By then the woman was inside the store. A male wearing all dark clothing got out and pulled open the woman’s passenger door and entered her car. A second male wearing a dark jacket got out and waited by the woman’s trunk until it popped open,and took her book bag. Both subjects got into their car…

My car stereos were stolen outside the house in the middle of the night and from the Orange Line parking lot when I was at work that day. Fitness Center Locker Theft Spree Continues

Three more thefts reported at Planet Fitness in Oak Lawn. L.A. Fitness also reports two thefts, cops say.

New details have emerged in a rash of locker thefts at the new Planet Fitness Center in Oak Lawn last week. The description of the alleged thief is consistent with descriptions in earlier police reports. Sign up for Oak Lawn Patch breaking news alerts. Three members reported that their lockers had been broken into before 9:13 a.m. Jan. 30. Surveillance cameras at Planet Fitness at 9503 S. Cicero Ave. captured a male black in his 20s or 30s about five-feet-six-inches tall, wearing a black and red Ecko sweatshirt entering the men’s locker room. The first theft was reported at 8:10 a.m. when a 55-year-old woman told staff that her purse was stolen from her locker in the women’s locker room. Locker Room Thefts Plague Planet Fitness

Eight locker thefts reported at new fitness center.

A thief has been working the men’s locker room at an Oak Lawn fitness center, cutting the locks off of lockers and stealing cell phones, wallets, jewelry and cash, according to Oak Lawn Police reports. Sign up for Oak Lawn Patch breaking news alerts. Five locker thefts were reported to have taken place at Planet Fitness, 9503 S. Cicero Ave. between Jan. 19 and Jan. 24. Planet Fitness just opened in December in the former Oak Lawn Fresh Market space. In some cases, stolen credit and debit cards were used within minutes of their thefts at area gas stations. Tire Thieves Were Hoping to Sell Booty for Drugs, Cops Say

Davis, 57, both of Chicago, were charged with felony theft after reportedly stealing car parts in the L.A. Fitness parking lot at 8812 S.
