Cops: Teen Car Burglar Says, 'I Was Acting Stupid'

Police said teen had backpack filled with cell phones, GPS units and large amounts of change allegedly taken from cars.

Oak Lawn police arrested a Bridgeview teen when he tried to break into a car and was found with items he had taken from another car at Oak Lawn Community High School. Michael Raymond Seno, 18, was charged with a felony for attempted car burglary and citied with possession of two grams of cannabis, police said. A resident said he spotted Seno allegedly trying to break the side window on his car parked in front of his house in the 9400 block of South McVicker Avenue around 8:16 a.m. Feb. 12. SNAPSHOT: November Car Breakins

Eleven car burglaries were reported in Oak Lawn during the month of November, a majority from unlocked vehicles.

Car break-ins--many from unlocked vehicles--have been all the buzz on Oak Lawn-centered Facebook pages, including: We've mapped out 11 car burglaries and catalytic converter thefts that occurred between Nov. 10 and Nov. 18. In addition, a man and his female companion were charged in connection with several vehicle burglaries in Oak Lawn and the Chicago Ridge Mall on Oct. 30. Both were charged with felonies. Police: Couple Passing Through Busted for Car Burglaries

Out-of-state man tried door handles looking for unlocked cars and then robbed them, police say.

Oak Lawn Police charged a couple in connection with a rash of car burglaries after victims’ stolen ID’s and belongings were discovered in the couple’s car during a traffic stop, reports said. While stopped at red light at 95th Street and 54th Avenue around 9:17 p.m. Oct. 23, the officer observed a maroon Nissan Altima bearing New York plates.
