UPDATE: Cops Charge Man With Selling Drugs From Oak Lawn Hotel Parking Lot

Evergreen Park police arrested a man who they said was selling drugs out of the Midway Inn and Suites parking lot.

 Updated March 14: According to Evergreen Park Police, they received information that Jones was selling drugs outside of the parking lot. Hotel manager Tony Kosir said he was not a resident of the hotel. Evergreen Park police helped catch a man who sold drugs out of an Oak Lawn hotel parking lot, according to reports. Police said tactical officers got a tip that someone was selling drugs outside of Midway Inn and Suites parking lot, 9320 S. Cicero Ave. On Feb. 11, police set up a drug exchange to catch Vern S. Jones, 19, of Chicago, in the act, according to reports. Man Helps Cops Catch Car Vandal

According to reports, a man helped Evergreen Park police catch someone who had apparently vandalized a truck.

When a man saw someone sprint from the scene of a crime, he followed him and called the cops. Evergreen Park police said Mario B. Luna, 48, of Oak Lawn, was seen by a witness in the 9600 block of Harding Avenue running from a parked truck which had just had the front driver’s tires slashed and the windows of the truck busted around 6:47 p.m. Nov. 21. According to reports, the witness, who was not the victim, followed Luna as he drove a Honda to the 9600 block of Keeler Avenue in Oak Lawn. When police arrested Luna, the witness picked him out of a photo line-up, police said. Police charged Luna with felony criminal damage to property. Man Accused of Swiping Mail from Mailboxes

Oak Lawn police say Michael E. Vickers Jr. was driving down wrong side of street and helped himself to the contents inside mailboxes as a resident followed him.

Oak Lawn police charged an Oakland, Calif., man with theft after a witness reported seeing him swiping mail on Sept. 1. According to police reports, a resident on the 9800 block of South Meade Avenue was looking out his front window around 9 a.m. when he saw Michael E. Vickers Jr., 24, drive up to a mailbox in a blue Buick in front of the man’s house. The resident told police he had placed a wedding invitation for the mail carrier inside the mailbox, and he saw Vickers reach inside and grab it. Police said the resident got in his car and followed Vickers, who was driving on the wrong side of the street, according to the report. The resident following Vickers said he saw Vickers take mail out of a mailbox on the 6100 block of West 99th …

Hooters Manager Says Four Adults Dined and Dashed

Oak Lawn police charge two men and two women with theft of service.

Oak Lawn police stopped a car occupied by four adults who reportedly ran out on their $50.18 bill at Hooters on Sept. 5. Jarrell A. Densmore, 27, Romell Funches, 28, and Seretas Sanderson, 27, all of Chicago, and Tamekkia L. Moore, 32, of South Holland, were charged with theft of service. The manager of the Hooters restaurant at 9159 S. Cicero Ave. in Oak Lawn told police that the foursome came into the restaurant around 6:45 p.m. and ordered wings and drinks. One of the women told the manager that their waitress forgot to bring dipping sauces for their wings, according to the police report. About 15 minutes later, the four ran out of the restaurant without paying their bill, the report said. Police said the manager ran out the back door …

Police Charge Man with Criminal Damage to a Car Linked to an Oak Lawn Auto Theft

Police said an Evergreen Park man, who was seen with two men around a Jeep, was charged with criminal damage to property on a car that was reported stolen from Oak Lawn the previous day.

Evergreen Park Police said Sean P. Morrison, 18, of Evergreen Park, was charged with criminal damage to property, accusing him of damaging a man’s car by breaking out the rear window of a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee in the 3200 block of W. 97th St. at about 3:20 p.m. on Aug. 6. The Jeep was reported stolen out of Oak Lawn. According to reports, police spoke with a landlord for an apartment building in that block, who said that a red Jeep parked behind the building didn’t belong to anyone in the building, and that three young men who were standing around the Jeep said it belonged to a friend.
