Intoxicated Man Kicks Out Cop Car Window, Police Say

Osama Jihad Zeidan, of Oak Lawn, is charged with felony criminal damage to state-supported property. Police say window was rendered inoperable.

An Oak Lawn man with a history of “fighting with police and a combative demeanor” was charged with felony criminal damage to property after he kicked out the rear passenger window in a village police car, reports said. Oak Lawn police responded to Advocate Christ Medical Center at 4440 W. 95th St. around 1:05 a.m. Sept. 18 to assist hospital security officers. When police arrived, a man identified as Osama Jihad Zeidan, 34, was being detained in handcuffs, according to the report. Zeidan came to the hospital seeking medical treatment for an old wound to his foot. Police said while waiting to be seen by a doctor, Zeidan kept leaving and coming back to the waiting room. …

POLICE BLOTTER: Assault and Wasabi, Hell Storm Continues

Oak Lawn police reports, Aug. 24-Aug. 28.

TUESDAY AUGUST 28 An assault complaint was signed against a professional dancer after she threatened to “slap the s---“ out of a diner at an Oak Lawn restaurant, reports said. Police were called to Sushi Tyme at 4959 W. 95th St. at 9 p.m. in response to a reported threat. According to police, a 26-year-old man having dinner with his mother. At the next table Ruth B. Burns, 26, of Itasca, was dining with three girlfriends. During dinner, the man said that Burns and her girlfriends were being obnoxious and rude to the staff, reports said. The women at the table allegedly made remarks that the man was gay. When he told them to mind their own business, police said Burns threatened to “slap the s---t out of him and motioned toward him. SUNDAY JUNE 10 A Merrionette Park man was arrested on weapon charges and driving on a suspended license when police pulled him over on the 110th Street and Cicero Avenue around 1:42 a.m. Police stopped a 2006 Chevy Impala driven by a man indentified as William Bodnar, 25, when a check showed that his license plate to be suspended for violation of mandatory insurance. Police stopped the car and learned that Bodnar’s driver’s license had also been suspended, reports said. Asked if he had any weapons or drugs in the car, Bodnar said there was a pistol on the floor in a gun case with ammo inside it, according to police. The officer located a gun case, which was unsecured, and within reach of the driver on the passenger floor, reports said. …

SUNDAY, APRIL 8 A Chicago man was charged with retail theft after a loss prevention officer saw him allegedly putting merchandise inside his pants around 2:30 p.m. at the Jewel at 9424 S. Pulaski Road. Police said William White, 42, of the 5000 block of West Erie Street in Chicago, was found with 20 Snickers candy bars and one Homelite cigarette lighter. SUNDAY, DECEMBER 4 Someone stole a Village of Oak Lawn stop sign on the 5600 block of West 105th Street. The sign-post had been removed from the ground. The thief stole the sign but left the post lying on the ground all before 11:30 a.m. THURSDAY, NOV. 23 Someone scratched “BPSK” in the hallway of an apartment building on the 9300 block of South Harlem. The graffiti was discovered around 3:10 p.m. A 24-year-old woman told police that her boy friend is a former Black P-Stone gang member and suspects that her boyfriend’s Satan’s Disciple friends are responsible for the graffiti. The friends had been at the apartment the evening before wearing their yellow hooded sweatshirt gang colors. They were kicked out and the woman believes they came …

POLICE BLOTTER: Flying Pizza, Disturbance Over French Fries, Nicotine Fit

Oak Lawn police reports, Nov. 4 through Nov. 6.

FRIDAY NOVEMBER 4 Vandals shattered the front picture window of a home on the 4100 block of West 99th Avenue. According to the homeowner, he heard a noise around 10:15 p.m. When he went outside he discovered that the vandals had thrown a slice of pizza at the window. Police found the slice on the ground. The report did not specify if the pizza was pepperoni, sausage or cheese. Police went to Portillo’s at 4020 W. 95th St. after the manager reported a disturbance around 10:43 a.m., according to reports. The manager advised police that the customer was boarding a 95th Street bus. Police: Gang Members Punch Men, Break Side Mirror

A pair of brothers said to be documented members of Latin Counts get into altercation with two other men at gas station, police said.

Oak Lawn police responded to a fight in progress between four men at a gas station on Nov. 3. After interviewing the four subjects, police charged two brothers, Joshua Arriago, 20, and Arturo Luis Arriago, 21, both of Nottingham Park with battery and criminal damage to property. Both brothers are said to be documented members of the Latin Counts, reports said. Police encountered the Arriago brothers while sitting in their car in the parking lot of the Marathon station at 9329 S. Cicero Ave. around 9:20 p.m. Joshua told police that one of the men punched him in the face with his fist, but officers could see any visible marks on Joshua’s face.
