'Falling Down On the Green': Police Charge Brothers Near Beer Tent
Oak Lawn police say two brothers got belligerent and refused to back off while officers were conducting police work at the fest.
Two brothers face multiple charges after they interfered with police in the beer tent at Oak Lawn’s Fall On the Green celebration on Sept. 10. Steven J. McElheny, 25, and his brother, Timothy J. McElheny, 21, both of the 9700 block of South Oak Park Avenue, were charged with obstructing a peace officer and resisting arrest. Steven received an additional charge for criminal trespassing. Oak Lawn police were patrolling the beer tent at Fall On the Green when they moved in to break up a heated argument between two men just before the fest closed at midnight. According to reports, police pulled one of the men outside the tent. As officers were telling the man he had to leave for the night, Steven McElheny approached the cop doing the interview…
