@Johnny Damon - It wasn't Moran that Joe was up against, but Carole Sheahan for the position of the Trustee of the 6th District. To have Carberry in there will be to the detriment of not onlythe 6th District, but to the entire Village. He has one and only one thing on his agenda - to better Mike Carberry. Look at his previous records when he was 'placed' as a representative in the Illinois House, what he did as opposed to what he could have done to help all of Oak Lawn.....He did then what he will continue to do - nothing for the good of the people, only the good of Mike Carberry and his Madigan cronies!!

You're absolutely right, we are very lucky to have so much passion in our Village. Well said, Dana.

Lifelong OL Resident: it's MIKE Carberry....but you're right - it's a shame that he was elected. Remember his Catholic constituents elected him.....

ReplySad day in the 6th District... I'm sorry, Joe. You had our votes as you were the only viable option....

ReplyFirst & foremost - congrats on winning! Its sounds like you are level-headed and will use the money wisely. Find a financial planner who will help you save at least 60% of it and make sure you have money to pay the taxes. Because even though you're taxed now, you can bet that you will be taxed again on this money.
I do have one question: Can someone please tell me where the $580,000 goes? The City of Chicago is closing schools, every other school district is stretched to the limit and this poor woman (and all others that have hit it "big") are getting whalloped with a 58% tax.....What the heck........ Looking forward to a response. Maybe the IL Lottery people can answer...?? -

ReplyFather Pat, you will be sorely missed at St. Catherine of Alexandria. Guide and protect us all. Continue to watch over us. The sign that the children made is true: we know Heaven is a better place now. We will never forget you. Help Fr. Stan to lead us.

Way to go, Hannum!! What a wonderful effort!! I have been involved with St. Baldrick's for over 10 years and watching the evolution of this Foundation is amazing. Seeing stories like these bring a tear of joy to my eyes, making me proud to involved with St. Baldrick's but more importantly, being part of such a wonderful community such as ours!! Fighting for a cure!!
