We are all brothers and sisters in Christ! May Jim Brewer rest in eternal peace with the angels, giving him love and understanding to join his family and friends and all those who went before him. May his daughters and all his family know that God knows he was a good man at heart and deserves peace and everlasting life! All God's people pray to join him one day too.
Let's gather as one in Christ at Jim's memorial Mass at Our Lady of the Ridge this Saturday, April 27th. Thank you, Dearest Lord, for giving us our faith in You with love and prayers, always!

Can some one out there confirm that Bury is not a Deetjen puppet? They're Rotary Club affiliation started me thinking and that organization is going south. And L.D.'s record over the last thrity years is not lily white. As a matter of fact, I often wonder what was on the minds of the Board when they hired him. For me, D.Hielmann is what you see is what you get!

Thank you for your comments. "Perfect" people are few and far between. It always nice to meet and greet people who "think" they are so perfect, even if only in their minds! Looking forward to meeting you - "Oak Lawn Deserves the Truth" at the debate.

The important issue is that the debate sponsored by the Chamber and the League is open to all voters to have a look at ALL candidates including those candidates who are write in candidates. The voters can ask all candidates questions. They can express their concerns about the many under the table issues that we do not know about especially why the break up of the UNITY party. Is $2.5million for a declining, old funeral home a pay for play? Why the kiss up with the village manager by certain trustees? Why did the village manager apply for another job? Wasn't he happy with all the perks he gets in Oak Lawn? Why is Madigan playing footsies with our trustees? Who is looking for what? Let the first candidate throw the first stone especially if they have never had an "error" in any of their prior petitions. Isn't it neat to place certain supporters on a village board not so much for the glory but for the pay back? When you need someone to follow through on something, the supporter does it because if you do it, the outcome may be good or bad for your "image" especially if it isn't perfect to begin with as Phil Kadner has appropriately reported.

goodgrammar-first and foremost, Myrna is not frazzled. And at least I sign my name. As for sentence structure, it is a good rule I like to follow, "sweep in front of your door and then come sweeping in front of mine." Please look up the definition & the samples of what socialistic governance is and you will see why on several occasions I put forth the question, "Is this socialistic governance but do not get a response?" When government's option of TIFing is reviewed by the University of Illinois and other major higher education studies, it is their conclusion... Tax Increment Financing is a distortion of the eminent domain authority and much more, it is government getting into an area of free enterprise wherein they buy off businesses with high offers for the property (go back and look at what was paid out for several areas TIF'd on 95th and also 109 & Cicero which is not in the 111TIF but someone on the inside wanted a high-end restaurant there but it fizzeled) which the owner is hardpressed not to accept. However, it is easy to spend someone else's money rather! I am still wondering why the 109th property was stripped to bare bones and no one complained about this breech of contract! But then again, it wasn't their $2,5 mill they spent, it was ours......(who holds the $2mil loan?check it out and check out the interest rate, too). Next Harley and Beatty??? Ck the sentence structure, OK? I like to judge the content and not the delivery but you are you and I am me.

Isn't it amazing out socialistic governance is easily doable for individuals who are part of the pack? It is amazing that free enterprise is dead in OAK LAWN! It is not free enterprise to say how many KMARTS should be located and why Dominic's still pay rent on the 111th lease so that another food market comes in. And don't it seem strange that the Target on 95th also has led a food line into this space! WOW.....Oak Lawn Harley's great and best owner dies and leaves his estate for a split but of course, let's have Oak Lawn Village saps by the buildings and we get top dollar for the business. And why can't the owners of the strip mall property get long term tenants .....because the village is planning to give them a few more millions too! What a socialistic world we are becoming and then let's get carried away with by, of course, avoid talking about the many infractions of the "open meetings" act over the last two years and the many, many interactions between the School, Library and Park Boards with the Village Board. If lie detector tests are presented as an option for all concerned for the under the carpet issues what would happen would be surprising, no shocking! And for all concerned, sign your names, back bones are a nice thing in our generation!

Ms. Jurcev is celebrating "50" great years with my one and only love, JJ on the beautiful island of Maui.....however, I am so impressed with the Cook County Connection of Tom Duhig with his day to day position and convenient step forward with the offense for the defense the un-unity party members need to support their stand on having the day to day decisions of our village in the hands of a non elected position who continues to be a dictatorial "mayor" figure authority while these individuals continue to get pay for play......positions, employement, favors and opportunities while we spend millions to say our wonderful KMART, A& D Tile, Flap Jacks, and now the fall of Harley from our tax base are not good enough for Oak Lawn because of this boards total lunacy and legal bills we are going to cut services of our great protectors our Fire and Police!!!

The identity theft and the forgery/fraud letter was sent to senior citizens selectively and not notifying the authorities by the "village clerk" Jane Quinlan is subject to review especially since when representatives of the Oak Lawn Tax Watch came to Stoney Creek Center were not welcomed and especially shouted at by one trustee and then the other trustee said, "what are you doing here?" in a threatening manner.
Seems like the "un" unity party leftovers are not willing to give the voter taxpayers of Oak Lawn a choice of governance for the 21st Century and get away from a "dictatorship" with several negative outcomes like a $12mil parking garage half filled and empty on weekends, several condominium half empty structures, a $2,8mil empty to the bear walls old bldg. at 109 & Cicero and now lots of lumber yard property which the village is looking at for another boondoggle.

If the taxpayers are paying for Andy and Bob's legal fees, there will be a lot of FOIA come this January February and March! OLTW as an arm of Better Government will be on the WATCH!
There must be a shake up of the public comments on all fronts coming real soon with all the grand standing while hearing some critiquing is squelched. It is great to be able to tape all these Board meetings which are so PAT ON THE BACK POLITICAL, it is a crying shame that we have all kinds of needs all over our dear village and those in power think that this stuff is believable!
    Self Praise is CHEAP!!!
