ReplyIT ALL COMES DOWN TO A STRONG LOCAL ECONOMY, WILL THE NEW ADMINISTRATION SUPPORT ESTABLISHED BUSINESSES AND HOW WILL THEY LURE NEW BUSINESS INTO AN AGING COMMUNITY. IF THE VILLAGE WANTS TO THRIVE, THEN THERE WILL NEED TO BE BIPARTISAN EFFORTS TO DO WHAT IS BEST FOR THE VILLAGE, NOT INDIVIDUALS.

ReplyFrom a yelp review: Here is all you need to know about Mariano's
- Incredible selection - much better than Jewel or Dominick's
- Great prices on food (haven't bought alcohol)
- Pretty good produce (not quite Whole Foods, but way cheaper)
- Friendly, knowledgeable staff - especially the meat counter
- Tons of great bakery and prepared items
- Piano player playing showtoons on Sundays... awesome! -

If it is unique and has a different approach than their other other chains, I look forward to having them, maybe the patch could dispatch a writer to visit another Mariano's location and report back.

ReplyCheck out their other stores: ROUNDY’S SUPERMARKETS, INC.
PICK ‘N SAVE . COPPS . RAINBOW . METRO MARKET . MARIANO’S
PO Box 473 Milwaukee, WI 53201 414-231-5000. Lets hope this will be an innovative and special venture, their other stores are good, but nothing special. -

ReplyThis is the big revelation for redevelopment?I have been to their other stores, Roundy's. Metro Market and Pick and Save, they are fine stores but nothing special. We have had a few new grocery stores into town and they have failed miserably. Maybe Trader Joes or Whole foods would drive outside consumer interests, but another regular grocery, after the initial newness wears off, even locals will not be guaranteed customers.

ReplyI've read books that people say makes them laugh out loud, and although I've found them amusing, I've never really laughed out loud at them. These ones I did laugh out loud. I enjoy his writing style, it helps me remember that I too was once was a confused and scared teenage boy growing up on the south side of Chicago.

ReplyThere is crime every where, I live full time in a Chicago suburb and part time in Waukesha. Waukesha crime rates are much lower. I can not help but think that as the economy goes so does the rate of robberies and theft. The more people of the community watch out for suspicious activities and behaviors, and report them to the police, the safer we make it for every one.
