Vorberg has an extensive arrest record dating back to 2001 on an array of charges ranging from retail theft, criminal damage and possession of drug paraphernalia, to contributing to the delinquency of a minor and attempted child abduction.

He has managed to avoid conviction on most of the charges, and hasn’t done any serious jail time except for an 18-month stint in Cook County while awaiting trial on child abduction charges. He was eventually acquitted in a second trial after the first trail resulted in a hung jury.

Following his arrest on May 1, Vorberg was released into the county’s electronic monitoring system. The program allows non-violent, pre-trial and short-time sentenced inmates to remain in the community instead of being incarcerated in jai, according to the Cook County Sheriff's website.

Detainees on electronic monitoring may work, attend school and participate in job training. With permission, detainees can leave their homes to get food stamps, attend job training, apply for public aid, cash aid checks, go on job interviews, and meet with their lawyers or probation officers.

The Cook County Sheriff’s police said that Vorberg stepped outside while wearing an eletronic ankle bracelet, violating the terms of his release. He was not required to post bail while in the electonic monitoring system.

Sheriff's police would not say where Vorberg had been staying.

Bail for Vorberg was set at $55,000; of which his required to put up 10-percent or $5,000. His next court date is May 23.
