The campaign to elect Republican Jim Falvey to the 3^rd Congressional District seat currently held by fellow Western Springs resident Dan Lipinski is publicizing two new right-wing endorsements picked up in Falvey’s primary battle against Hometown’s Richard Grabowski.

Falvey has received primary endorsements from both conservative political figure and former GOP gubernatorial nominee Dan Proft and from the organization Lyons Township Republicans.

“Republicans can win the 3^rd District this year with the right candidate, and after in-depth discussions with Jim Falvey I believe he is that candidate,” said Proft in a Falvey campaign press release. “Jim Falvey understands that the problem in Washington is not that the federal government hasn't done enough but rather that the federal government has attempted to do too much.”

Lyons Township Republicans committeeman Tony Peraica said that his group’s members had voted to support Falvey over Grabowski (or fringe candidate Arthur Jones) by a 28-11.

“Jim’s dedication to mainstream conservative values and his ability to communicate the stark difference between himself and Congressman Dan Lipinski, his general election opponent, make him our best chance at victory in November,” said Peraica, also in a Falvey campaign release.

Falvey has built his campaign around pledging to “limit the size and scope of government in order to promote individual responsibility” and frequently references his time spent as a member of former Congressman Fred Upton’s staff in the 1980s.

Grabowski has questioned Falvey’s conservative credentials on account of his frequently having voted in Democratic primaries instead of Republican ones.
