Man Charged with Assault After Head-Butting Window at Cop Shop

Police say man got rude with booking officer after they brought him to Oak Lawn police station lobby to sober up.

Oak Lawn police said they picked up a 23-year-old man who appeared highly intoxicated when they spotted him walking in the street at 95th Street and Museum Drive on June 15 in the middle of the afternoon.

When police asked where he lived, the man, Justin Ayala, of Winthrop Harbor, told them he was homeless. Police said Ayala was not being cooperative so they took him to the Oak Lawn police station where he could sober up in the lobby and call someone for a ride home, reports said.

While the cop wrote Ayala a ticket for “pedestrian under the influence,” Ayala began to head butt and punch the lobby window, reports said.
