No Charges In Church Parking Lot Fight
Men went outside church to "take care of unfinished business," police say.
Two men got into a fight in a church parking lot on the 9000 block of South Ridgeland Avenue shortly after noon on Jan. 30. According to Oak Lawn police, the men were inside the church that also serves as a PADS shelter and decided to go outside “to take care of some unfinished business.” Once outside, the men continued their argument. Police said the man purported to be the victim took a swing at the other man but the punch didn’t land. The other man swung back and hit the “victim” in the face. The “victim” told police the other man hit him for no apparent reason. Witnesses told police they heard both men go outside and saw them arguing. The witnesses said the men took their coats off and looked like they were about to fight. No complaints were filed.
