Skate and Salute with Local Heroes at the Oak Lawn Ice Arena

Start your August off right with some ice skating at the Oak Lawn Ice Arena.

Is all this chilly weather getting you thinking about winter already? It's not quite that cold yet, but you can still enjoy a favorite wintertime activity this summer: ice skating.

The Oak Lawn Park District invites residents to celebrate Oak Lawn's everyday heroes at tonight's Salute to Heroes Skating Exhibition. The event is free and will be held at the Oak Lawn Park District Ice Arena, 9320 S. Kenton Ave. Heroes will be honored with the skaters' tribute starting at 5 p.m., and the event goes until 7:30 p.m.

After the exhibition, residents can enjoy $1 admission to skate with a $3 skate rental. (Or bring your own skates to save a few bucks.)
