Velo Kicks Off SXU's Catholic Colloquium Lecture Series

Former Archdiocese of Chicago Vice-Chancellor Monsignor Kenneth Velo will kick off Saint Xavier University's 2010-11 Catholic Colloquium lecture series at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 19, in the Warde Academic Center's Butler Reception Room at the Chicago campus, 3700 W. 103rd St.

The lecture is free and open to the public.

Velo's lecture, titled "Where the Light Shines: Catholics in Chicago," will reflect on the words of the prophet Micah; "This is what the Lord asks of you, only this – to do justice, to love goodness, and to walk humbly with your God." (Mi. 6:8). Velo will explore ways in which contemporary Catholics continue to strive toward that ideal.
