DYING TO TEACH: The Killing of Mary Eve Thorson, "Educators Who Bully"

On Thanksgiving Day, 2011, a young teacher by the name of Mary Eve Thorson stood in front of a moving semi-truck and ended her life. This documentary will focus on the chain of events which led to Mary's death, and provoked teachers in District 169 and throughout the state of Illinois to speak out in horror and shame.

'Dying to Teach: The Killing of Mary Eve Thorson' will debut at the Beverly Arts Center in Chicago.

After the film, there will be a celebration in Mary's honor and in recognition of teachers as a whole. We will have refreshments, musicians, a special raffle, buttons, wristbands, and everything necessary to promote solidarity among teachers!  Mary Thorson's parents will be in attendance to speak with the audience.  Mary is being referred to as 'A Martyr for Teachers.'  This is going to be an important and memorable event for all involved.
