Can social media help you land a new job? Check out a few tips from Aol Jobs
that could help you harness the power of Google+ to boost your job
search. And if you have a few of your own, please share with your
neighbors in our comments section.
- Demonstrate Expertise: As many people as possible should know how great you are at your job. "When you use Google+, Google indexes your expertise, and you have a chance for your posts to appear as search results for other people's queries about the topics you include in your updates," writes Miriam Saltpeter on Aol Jobs.
- Expand Your Network: Using Google+, the barrier to an introduction to a potential new boss or key contact is lowered. Just use the search bar to find your target, then add that person to your Google+ circles. "When you want to get his attention, comment on his posts or repost something he shared and use his name, "+JohnSmith" in your post," Saltpeter notes.
- Learn and Grow: There are Google+ communities for a wealth of topics. Search for people who post interesting content, follow them and you could learn a lot that will make you more marketable.
