Seasonal Garden Center Merchandisers

Hampshire Farms has seasonal part time positions for garden center merchandisers. Merchandisers are responsible for the presentation and maintenance of live floral products in retail stores’ garden centers starting March 1. Responsibilities include:

• Creating and maintaining plant displays
• Unloading product from racks onto display areas
• Watering
• Recording inventory
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Applicants must be able to work weekends, a flexible schedule and have access to a computer and Internet. Plant knowledge is helpful and experience in merchandising is preferred. The job is physically demanding and merchandisers are on their feet all day, as well as working in indoors and outdoors in all climates and weather conditions.

Spring Break Camp Instructors

Lincoln Park Zoo is looking for fun and creative educators with formal or informal teaching experience to join the camp team as spring break camp instructors. Instructors will provide children with meaningful and memorable learning opportunities by developing and teaching a variety of hands-on activities. Instructors will be responsible for teaching groups of 14-18 campers each week. Campers will be divided into groups depending on age and grade level from 4 years old to 4th grade. This is a full time seasonal position that will extend from March 25-April 5 with 2-3 days of training before camp (training dates are flexible, depending on instructors' schedules). Instructors will work 8 a.m.-3:30 p.m. from Monday-Friday.

Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in education, environmental studies, biology or working towards a degree. Previous teaching or interpretation experience in a zoo, nature center, or other informal setting is preferred. Basic computer skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access. The Coca-Cola production plant in Alsip has an opening for an inventory control supervisor responsible for maintaining inventory system accuracy, data integrity, local level audit controls and inventory levels (DSI) to prevent product and/or raw material out-of-stocks. The job requires a high school diploma or GED, but a bachelor’s degree is preferred; and 2+ years sales and customer service specific experience preferred.
