Retailers Hiring Store Associates in Local Area

Fairplay Foods coming to Oak Lawn and the expanded Wal-Mart in Bedford Park are offering career opportunities.

Two familiar retailers are hiring associates for stores slated to open in the fall in the local area.

the regional grocery store chain that is at 87th Street and Cicero Avenue will be hiring associates for its new Oak Lawn store slated to open this fall.

Interviews are being conducted on Thursday, Sept. 6 from noon to 8:00, and Friday, Sept. 7 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Fairplay’s vice president of retail operations Michael Kozlowski and a partner in the business did not say how many positions were being offered, what they paid or if health benefits were being offered.

The company’s website did place a premium on happy employees “where all opinions” mattered.

Job candidates can go online to fill out a job application and bring it with them when they apply at the Oak Lawn location, or drop it off at the nearest Fairplay store at 6620 W. 111th Ave. in Worth, or at 8631 W. 95th St. in Hickory Hills.

Kozlowski said no date has been set as of yet for the Oak Lawn store opening.

Bedford Park Wal-Mart Hiring 85 Associates

Wal-Mart is hiring approximately 85 store associates to work at the expanded Bedford Park location that will celebrate its re-grand opening sometime this fall.

The retailer has set up hiring kiosks inside the store at 7050 S. Cicero Ave.

Prospective candidates can come in during store hours from 6 a.m. to midnight, seven days a week to complete an application, or go directly to the Wal-mart website.

Wal-Mart offers opportunities for advancement, as well as benefits to qualified full- and part-time employees.

Associates are being hired for all areas of the store.
