Does everything really happen for a reason? If God is good, why would God let bad things happen to nice people? Do we suffer because we were are bad or to teach us a lesson? Is God really in charge?
Starting in January, Pastor Peggy McClanahan will tackle these questions in a discussion group based on Rabbi Harold S. Kukshner's classic best seller When Bad Things Happen to Good People. The discussions will be held on Tuesday evenings at Pilgrim Faith United Church of Christ in Oak Lawn from 7:00-8:15 p.m. beginning January 14. It will run for four to six sessions.
Please read the introduction and first chapter before the first session. There are a few copies of the book available for purchase at Pilgrim Faith or you may obtain your own copy from the library or online. Contact the church at 708-422-4200 for more information.
