Pegasus Literary Magazine Celebrates Creativity

Albert Einstein, known worldwide as an intellectual genius, said, “Creativity is contagious, pass it on.”  Even the smartest of all humans saw the value in creativity. Oak Lawn Community High School’s literary magazine, Pegasus, showcases the creativity of its students.  This year’s issue is now available.

Each year the literary magazine seems to take on its own persona.  The 2013-14 publication celebrates the poetic form. Subjects include memories, beauty, colors, love, dreams, sports, and odes to body parts.  Beautiful artwork adorns the cover and inside pages to enhance the subjects and themes of the verse. Pegasus sponsor Colleen Conway said, “The Pegasus Club and I are very thankful to the many dedicated and talented OLCHS teachers and students who assisted in making the 2014 Pegasus Literary Magazine the best ever.  Mrs. Jepsen and Mrs. Hochstadt were an integral force in encouraging students to submit their literary creations for this magazine.  Mrs. Clark and her students allowed us to peruse their art folders and select pieces of their beautiful artwork and photos to compliment our many literary selections.  Mrs. Gannon and her 6th hour Intro to Tech class welcomed me into their classroom to instruct and assist the staff in creating the individual pages for our magazine.  I feel our literary magazine truly exemplifies the meaning of teamwork.”  To read this year’s issue, Click.
