Not since the days of Moose Cholak and Gorgeous George has Oak Lawn witnessed such a as at Tuesday's village board meeting. We know it was real and not fake like professional wrestling.
Oak Lawn village board members came out of their corners swinging. The only thing missing from the proceedings was Mickey Goldsmith, the trainer from the Rocky movies, adminstering mercurochorme and bandages to the battling village board.
Patch has compiled a highlight reel so you don't have to watch the whole 2 1/2-hour meeting on Channel 4. It's Oak Lawn's own special reality show.
If and I use IF because IF my 4 yr. old Granddaughter EVER acted like these so called adults anywhere let alone on public tv, she would be punished. By the way, she never has. GROW UP!!!
PS: Interesting that Mr. Deetjen was staying above the fray, and reluctant to try to place blame on the tax-exempt status of the Museum. I guess because the roots of that snafu were planted on the previous administration's watch? Or because the new, trustee-picked law firm hasn't been enthusiastically performing due diligence on anything other than digging dirt on the previous law firm, or certain members of the elected commission? Just sayin,........
I agree with you 100%! I also thought the exact same thing about the Manager! Something is going on & it's being hidden for the moment. We'll probably find out After the election. One more thing though, Streit Reading " we only saw this in Chicago, seems to me that it's vibrating across the borders from the Ward Organizations". Well Bob... Madigan is the HEAD of All of the Ward Organizations & since you are "playing footsies" with him it's bound to rub off on you & Your trustees
Is there no civility left? Is the only way to make a point is by speaking louder at each other on double time? Do we need to hear such display of outrage? I say NO, this behavior is unacceptable among adults and more so among the elected officials. Please attend to the business you were elected to do and leave the arguments about your bruised egos in the back room. Have you (the board) consider anger management sessions followed by conflict resolution seminars?
It takes a real special group of people to make Hurckes and Deetjen look like the professionals. Everyone should watch the full meeting even the lawyer doesn't know what the h*ll is going on.
