Gunmen Hold Up Mexican Eatery in Evergreen Park

Both suspects remain at large after escaping in black vehicle with loot, cops say.

Evergreen Park Police are searching for two suspects in the Friday night armed robbery of a Mexican restaurant.

Police said that two men walked into Pepe's Restaurant, located at 2942 W. 95th St., at about 10 p.m. Friday.

One robber drew a handgun and demanded money from both the register and the restaurant manager’s pockets, according to reports.

After swiping the cash, both men fled westbound on 95th Street in a black vehicle.

No one was injured during the robbery, police said.

The first suspect is described as a black male, approximately 5-feet, 10-inches tall, with a dark complexion and a thin mustache. He was seen wearing a black jacket with a Chicago American Giants logo on the front and the word “Chicago” in red letters on the back.

Police said the second suspect was described as a black male, between 5-foot, 6-inches and 5-foot, 8-inches tall, with stubble. He was seen wearing a black bandana with red stripe and dark, hooded coat.

The incident remains under investigation.
