BLOTTER: Juveniles Run Wild Through Jewel, Men Fight Over Petting Dog

Oak Lawn police reports, March 26-28.

THURSDAY March 28

‘Don’t Pet My Dog’

Two men were charged with disorderly conduct after they reportedly fought over petting a dog. Police responded to a call of men fighting in the 9600 block of Southwest Highway around 7:03 p.m. Officers spoke to both men who were highly intoxicated, reports said. Wilfredo Morales, 54, of the 9600 block of Keeler Avenue, told police that he was trying to pet the other man’s dog, police said. The other man, identified as Dale R. Kinzie, 53, of the 6400 block of West 84th Street in Burbank, became angry, and ordered Morales not to speak to his dog, according to the report. Police said that Kinzie then removed his shirt and both men engaged in a fight. During the confrontation, officers said the Morales received a small cut on his forehead, but refused medical treatment. Kinzie showed no visible signs of injury. Both were cited for disorderly conduct and are to appear at Village Hall adjudication court on April 16.

Juveniles Run Amok Through Jewel

Police answered a call of numerous armed subjects walking into the Jewel at 8801 S. Ridgeland Ave., around 10:08 p.m. The 911 call center informed police that five to six male Asians armed with guns were exiting a brown van and entering Jewel. While enroute, the caller told police he was at 87th Street and Harlem and would not return to speak to officers. The store was cleared of employees and customers. The manager told police that just prior to their arrival, male juveniles were running around the store. The juveniles purchased some eggs and left a in silver minivan.
