Father and Son Run Afoul of Police at Richards Football Game

Cops say father yelled obscenities and slurs at them as they investigated his son for underage drinking during the Richards High School football home opener.

A father and son were issued citations after said the dad challenged police officers while they were investigating his son for underage drinking at a football game on Aug. 26.

Kevin Anderson, 20, of the 19300 block of Wolf Road in Mokena, was citied for underage drinking.

Anderson’s father, Davon White, 36, of the 13300 block of Woodlawn in Robbins, was cited for disorderly conduct. Both men are to appear in adjudication court at Oak Lawn Village Hall on Sept. 20.

Police said they were called to Richards around 6:30 p.m. when parents complained that a minor was drinking vodka on school grounds. Police and Richards security officers confronted Anderson and found him in possession of a pint of vodka, according to the report.

White yelled obscenities and slurs at the cops after they had detained his son, police said. Both men were issued village citations and kicked off the school grounds.

The men were told not to return or they would be arrested for trespassing. Police gave them a ride to the Oak Lawn police station to wait for a ride home.
