Hooligans Blow Up Portable Toilet
Police discovered a portable toilet blown apart with some type of firework or explosive at Centennial Park at 9401 S. Oak Park Ave. The portable potty was located next to the walkway east of the baseball field. Police believe the hooliganism occurred sometime over the Fourth of July holiday.

Jail Cell Defaced
Oak Lawn Police responded to their own lockup after custodian reported a bed frame defaced in a jail cell at 9466 S. Raymond Ave. around 10:03 a.m. Police said that an offender identified as Steven J. Broderick, 23, of the 10400 block of South Keating Avenue, carved graffiti on to a bed frame professing his love for his girlfriend along with “F--- the police,” while jailed overnight on July 8. No other prisoners had occupied the cell after Broderick, reports said. When Broderick returned to pick up his personal belongings on July 10, he was taken into custody and charged with one count of criminal damage to police property. He was sent back to lockup pending a bond hearing.
