Man Shot in Burbank Drive-By

Burbank Police report on an overnight shooting.

A man was shot in Burbank early Friday morning in what police are saying was not a random incident.

The shooting occurred at 12:25 a.m. on Dec. 7 in the 6700 block of 85th Street, according to the Burbank Police Department.

A 20-year-old man was walking alone when a maroon mini-van drove by and its occupants began to yelled "gang jargon" at him, police said. The man heard shots ring out and realized he had been shot in the leg.

Police say the van drove away southbound down New Castle from 85th Street. The victim was transported to Advocate Christ Hospital where his injuries were determined not to be life threatening, police said.

The Burbank Police Department is asking for anyone who heard or witnesses the incident to step forward.
