POLICE BLOTTER: Residential Burglaries, Fake Food Order

Fake Food Order

The owner of STACKED! at 5273 W. 95th St. said that someone called the restaurant and placed a food order but didn’t come to pick it up around 2:04 p.m. The caller gave two phone numbers. When the caller did not pick up his order, the owner called both numbers; someone hung up twice on the second phone number. Police said this type of activity is growing at STACKED! and the owner will sign complaints.

Truck Drivers Robbed While On the Road

Homeowners who are both truck drivers came home around 6:21 p.m. after several days on the road only to discover that their shed in the 5900 block of West 99th Street had been burgled. Police said the homeowners noticed that their shed door in the back yard was open. When they went to check it out, they noticed that the door latch had been cut. Two bikes, a generator, battery charger and power lawn tools valued at $5,400 were stolen.

Burglars Smash Window

Burglars smashed the rear entry glass door of a home in the 9600 block of South Brandt Avenue sometime before 8:16 p.m. Police said the burglars removed jewelry and a TV from the upstairs bedroom. The burglars attempted to take an older tube television from the basement, but dropped it on the basement floor. Police said the burglars also moved around several bottles of liquor from the basement bar, but the homeowners weren’t sure if any bottles were missing. The neighbors were home but did not see or hear anything suspicious.
