Catalytic Converters Heisted on Cicero

Car part thieves swiped catalytic converters from two cars on Cicero. The owner of a 2001 Jeep Cherokee discovered that someone removed the catalytic converter around 3:22 p.m. on Nov. 3. A second theft was discovered at 10:40 a.m. the next day on the 9700 block of South Cicero Ave.

Sex Offender’s Address Unknown

After repeated attempts to verify the address of Leron T. Hampton, 37, an Illinois registered sex offender, police reported his whereabouts as “unknown.” Police visited Hampton’s last known address on the 9700 block of South Pulaski Road on several occasions, reports said. On one of those visits, police hung a large blue door hanger on his front door, instructing Hampton to call police. Police said that Hampton did not contact them. At 2:05 p.m., a last attempt was made to contact Hampton. Residents told police they had not seen Hampton in months. Police also called the phone number provided by Hampton, but it was disconnected. Hampton’s address was changed to “unknown” and he was reported to Illinois State Police as being in violation of state statutes.
