Confidential Informant Leads Police To Man Allegedly Selling Cocaine

A confidential informant told police of drug sales possibly taking place from an apartment building on the 4700 block of West 92nd Street. Reports said the informant picked out Clinton C. Moore II, 25, from a photo lineup as the man selling cocaine out of his apartment unit with a brown unmarked door. Police sent the informant to Moore’s apartment to purchase some cocaine with $30 in bait money. The informant was under police surveillance when he was observed entering Moore’s apartment. Moments later, the informant left and met police at a prearranged location, police said. The informant handed police a plastic bag containing what tested positive as cocaine. The next day, police searched Moore’s apartment and he was charged with possession of a controlled substance. He was held pending on bond hearing on Dec. 28.

‘627’

A 24-year-old Oak Lawn man was charged with unlawful use of intoxicating compounds after police found loose prescription pills in his jacket pocket that the man said were for a headache, reports said. Police stopped Shadi K. Salman after they observed his car with an obstructed windshield traveling eastbound on 91st Street at Ridgeland Avenue. Salman told police that he had nothing illegal in the car and to go ahead and search him, police said. After finding five loose pills with “627” printed on them, Salman told police he got them from a coworker and took the pills for a headache. The officer looked up the pills on drugs.com and identified the pills as Tramadol, a prescription medication that is commonly used to accentuate a high from smoking pot, police said. Salman was taken into custody when, according to police, he said he “didn’t know what the pills were” followed up with “they are muscle relaxers.” Salman was charged with unlawful use of intoxicating compounds and has a court appearance on Jan. 17 at Bridgeview.
