POLICE: Intoxicated Trio Urinate, Vomit in Bar, Fight Off-Duty Cop

Men accused of causing ruckus at BJ McMahon's are charged with disorderly conduct and battery.

Some bad decision-making on the part of three men led to charges of battery and disorderly conduct after being accused of fighting, urinating and vomiting in an Oak Lawn bar on May 3, police said.

An off-duty, Chicago police officer was enjoy drinks and dinner with friends at BJ McMahon’s at 5432 W. 95th St., when they noticed a man urinating on the floor by his table. When the off-duty cop and his friends told the man, identified as Peter G. Nicholas, 41, of Oak Lawn to stop it, Nicholas got angry, reports said.

In another corner of the bar, said that Joseph Klomp, 44, of Posen, was vomiting. Police said Nicholas and Klomp were "highly intoxicated."

After the off-duty cop made the bartender aware of what was happening, Nicholas approached the off-duty cop and began screaming in the off-duty cop’s face, reports said.

Police said the Chicago cop thought that Nicholas was going to hit him, so he grabbed the man with his hands. Nicholas allegedly grabbed hold of the off-duty cop, and both men fell to the floor.

The two men wrestled on the floor until other patrons broke up the fight, police said. A third man identified as Gregory Lichtenberger, 29, of Worth, also allegedly jumped into the fray.

Police said that Lichtenberger and Klomp continued to yell at bar patrons until officers arrived.

The three men were taken into custody. Nicholas was charged with battery and disorderly conduct, while Klomp and Lichtenberger received disorderly conduct charges.

They’re due in court at the Bridgeview courthouse on June 14.
