Police: Ruse Burglars Strike Elderly Victim's Home Second Time

Oak Lawn police say a couple described as 'Hispanic' conned their way into an elderly woman's home and stole $35 from her purse.

An 87-year-old woman was robbed a second time by the same man and woman who hustled their way into her home in the 10000 block of South Marion Street a few weeks ago, police said.

According to police, the victim was sitting in her living room watching TV when a couple she described as "Hispanic" knocked on her front door around 6:15 p.m. Feb. 16.

The victim recognized the couple from a visit on Feb. 9 as the same two who stole $30 from her purse and then promised to come back to do some work for her.
