Queen of Peace Teacher Recognized with the 2014 Distinguished Service Award

Burbank, IL –January 24, 2014 – Kristine Owens, a history instructor at Queen of Peace High School has been recognized for her outstanding achievements with the 2014 Distinguished Service Award. The award recognizes an outstanding school employee who has demonstrated exceptional dedication, leadership and veteran service of 10 or more years in Catholic education.

Kristine goes above and beyond in all those categories. Not only does she coordinate all the service opportunities for the Queen of Peace students, but she is an excellent World History and social studies teacher.

Kristine challenges our students on a daily basis and leads discussions and lessons about social justice. She is the first one to offer anyone in the school assistance without being asked and the last one out the door at night. She has also chaperoned numerous trips out to Nazareth Farm. Kristine will be honored at an awards dinner sponsored by the Catholic Schools where she will receive her award.
