Birds & Butterflies in Your Garden

The Oak Lawn Public Library, 5300 W. 95th St., will host a free slide lecture titled “Backyard Gardening to Attract Birds & Butterflies” on Monday, April 18 at 7 p.m.

Attracting birds and butterflies to your outdoor living space is not difficult to do if you welcome them with a long-term source of food, water and a place of safety. Marian Thill, a professional landscaper and naturalist, has used native plants to attract 75 species of birds and 19 species of butterflies to her suburban home.
