OLCHS Advocacy Holds 'Socks fpr Soldiers' Drive

Oak Lawn Community High School students in Greg Meyer’s and Julie Hartmann’s advocacy classes will host a sock drive for soldiers overseas.  The sock drive will be held the first two weeks in December.  Boxes for the socks are located throughout the school.  Donations can also be dropped off in the counseling office.   A nearby volunteer will ship the socks and stated, “Quality socks really make a big comfort difference for soldiers on a day-to-day basis.  Soldiers that are in really extreme conditions notice the different effects of weather as well as cushion and support.” Please help bring a “piece of home” to our soldiers.

Community members are also invited to participate in the drive. Donations can be delivered to the high school during business hours or can be scheduled through Julie Hartmann at 708/741-5628.
