‘When You See A Guy Reach For Stars In The Sky, You Can Bet That He’s Doing It For Some Doll’

The cast and crew of OLHMS's production of 'Guys and Dolls' can tell you what's playing at the Roxy.

Where there’s life there’s hope, and hope sparks in Oak Lawn-Hometown Middle School’s production of ‘Guys and Dolls.’

Directed by the effervescent language arts teacher Susan Marcinkowski, 60 students from grades 6, 7 and 8 will be peforming and assisting in the production.

Musical numbers will include “Luck Be A Lady Tonight,” “Sit Down You’re Rockin’ the Boat,” and “Bushel and a Peck.”

The cast was a little nervous performing for their teachers during Thursday's dress rehearsal, but we’re pretty sure that once the adrenaline gets going on opening night, the guys and dolls of OLHMS will be belting out the show tunes in this Damon Runyon yarn of the oldest established, permanent floating dice game in New York.

Performances are at 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 28, and 3 p.m. Saturday, March 1. Tickets are $7 for adults, and $6 for students.
