Georgelos, Lindelsee Go the Distance to Capture Oak Lawn Specialty Awards

Valerie Georgelos is named Oak Lawn Community High School's Most Valuable Female Athlete and Eric Lindelsee takes the Spartans' Most Valuable Male Athlete award.

Eric Lindelsee and Valerie Georgelos have grown accustomed to outrunning the rest of the pack.

Now, they are standing at the head of the pack.

Lindelsee and Georgelos were honored as specialty award winners at Oak Lawn Community High School. Georgelos was named the Geri Vandekreke Most Valuable Female Athlete award winner. Lindelsee was named the Bill Godby Most Valuable Male Athlete award winner.

Both excelled in cross country and track and field. Lindelsee was an all-conference pick in the 3,200 meters during the spring season. Georgelos was a scholastic award winner with a 3.766 grade point average.

Oak Lawn's T.J. Zuzga (boys and girls swimming) was named the Fred Parks Coach of the Year. Joe Pajac Scholarship winners were Erin Fahy, Cody Marek and Daniel Townsend. Angela Roti was the inaugural winner of the Tim Nickos Memorial Scholarship award.
