A year ago, the Marist boys volleyball team won its own RedHawk Invitational and later went on to win the IHSA state championship.

Can Marist make history repeat?

The Redhawks returned three starters from a team that posted a 38-4 record a year ago--Garrett Dempsey, Kevin Morrison and Kevin Murphy. And all three had a hand in Marist's run to its second straight title in the RedHawk invite.

Marist defeated Lincoln-Way North 25-14, 25-10 in the championship match. Time will tell whether the RedHawks' tourney title performance serves as a springboard to bigger and better things.
