Sports Photo Gallery: Richards Girls Soccer Gets Its Kicks In

Playing in a summer league against other local high schools, Richards is breaking in some new players and looking to build some momentum for a new season.

The District 218 high school girls summer soccer league may not showcase World Cup-like talent, but it sure is featuring a lot of scoring.

In an offensive onslaught, T.F. United beat Richards 8-4 in a recent match at the Oak Lawn Athletic Complex.

Richards' defense and goaltending was shaky early on as TF United scored four goals in the first 15 minutes. But Brittany Wagner got Richards on the scoreboard when she sent a long shot from the left side into the right netting of the goal. Fifteen minutes later, Diana Lozano scored from 12 yards out after a pretty pass from Wagner.

Richards cut the deficit to 6-4 late in the second half when Kelly McGreal found the back of the net, but TF United scored two late goals to cap the scoring.
