Join the Oak Lawn and Aslip Chambers for 'Business After Hours': WEEK AHEAD

Final weeks of Oak Lawn Farmers Market, game night at the library, and high school football in the week ahead.

Network with other area businesses at 'Business After Hours' co-hosted by the Alsip and Oak Lawn Chambers of Commerce. The networking event goes from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday @ Las Fuentes Restaurant, 11501 S. Pulaski Road. $7 includes Mexican buffet.

MOVIE SCREENING: The Oak Lawn Public Library will screen the 2013 movie “Mud” @ 2 and 6:30 p.m. FREE.

LEGISLATIVE, LICENSE and ETHICS COMMITTEE: The Oak Lawn Village Board committee starts at 6 p.m. at Village Hall, 9446 S. Raymond Ave. This looks pretty interesting and we’ll probably stroll over. Committee members -- including Tr. Desmond, Tr. Olejniczak and Tr. Carberry -- will discuss the conflict of interest and campaign reform ordinances. Meeting is open to the public.

WEDNESDAY

Oak Lawn Farmers Market welcomes guest Thrivent Financial at the Oak Lawn Chamber table. The farmers market runs every from 7 a,n, to 1 p.m. through Oct. 16.


GAME NIGHT @ the Oak Lawn Library, 9427 S. Raymond Ave. Enjoy a variety of games including dancing, sports and Xbox. Ages 11-13. Registration not required. FREE. 7 p.m.


FRIDAY


HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL: The down-but-not-out 1-4 Oak Lawn Spartans hit the road for Palos Heights to face the 0-4 Shepard Astros. Hopefully, there will be more than one port-a-pottie on the visitors’ side of the field this time. Kickoff is @ 7 p.m. @ 13049 S Ridgeland Ave.,  Palos Heights.


HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL: The 4-1 Richards Bulldogs coming off a tough loss last week will entertain the 3-2 Reavis Rams on home turf at Korhonen Field. Kick-off is at 7 p.m. @ 106th Street and Central Avenue in Oak Lawn

DROP-IN FIREFIGHTER STORY TIME: Listen to an Oak Lawn firefighter read stories at the Oak Lawn Library @ 9427 S. Raymond Ave. in honor of October, Fire Prevention Month. No registration is required, all ages are invited. Story time starts at 10 a.m. FREE.
